- Interpret IPC/WHMA-A-620 criteria for cable and wire-harness assemblies
- Evaluate crimped, soldered, and insulation-displacement terminations
- Assess wire preparation, stripping, and tinning quality
- Inspect connectorization, molding, and over-molding
- Apply criteria for splices, ultrasonic welds, and shielding
- Determine class 1, 2, or 3 acceptance for harness products
- Prepare for the IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification exam
Prerequisites
No prior certification is required for the 620 inspector course.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents in English
- Visual acuity to distinguish fine detail and color (corrective lenses or magnification permitted)
- Basic familiarity with wire and cable assembly
