- Evaluate external and internal (microsection) board conditions
- Assess plating, holes, conductors, and dielectric criteria
- Apply class 1, 2, or 3 acceptance for fabricated boards
- Understand how board defects affect assembly reliability
- Prepare for the IPC-A-600 certification exam
Prerequisites
No prior certification is required.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents in English
- Visual acuity to distinguish fine detail and color (corrective lenses or magnification permitted)
- Basic familiarity with printed-board fabrication or assembly
