620 Wire Harness Assembly (Theory and Hands-On)
IPC-620 CIT Certified IPC Trainer
Workmanship standards and inspection criterion for cable and wire harness assemblies.
This 4 day course was developed in conjunction with the WHMA, Wire Harness Manufacturing Association and is the industry standard for cable and wire harness fabrication and installation. The CIT level certification is an engineering level course designed to allow the successful candidate to certify individuals in their company to the 620 CIS level or to simply be a higher level certification.
Certified Instructor Receives IPC Certification, good for 24 months. Everyone who successfully completes the Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Training Certification and examination will receive the materials necessary for conducting Application Specialist Certification and Recertification Training including:
- IPC/WHMA-A-620B Standard
- CD illustrating all facets of the IPC/WHMA-A-620B training program
- Instructors guide providing complete instructions for Operator training and certification
Upon successful completion of this training program participants will be certified as Certified IPC Trainers. With this portable credential, Instructors can train and certify operators and inspectors based on needs.

Circuit Technology has developed an optional one day hands-on module to apply and reinforce the concepts of the IPC/WHMA-A-620 Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Assemblies. This 8-hour course covers the practical use of industry standard tools for cutting and stripping of various wires types, tinning techniques both manual and utilizing a solder pot and focuses on advanced soldering techniques for multiple wire to terminals contacts. Also included is crimping of multiple contacts to meet the industry requirements for all product classes. This hands-on module is flexible and can be tailored to meet specific organizational needs in an onsite training environment.
