Goodbye 2017 – Hello 2018!

SMTA 2017

The Carolinas chapter of the SMTA recently held its last meeting of 2017.  There were four presenters including Dave Dalton from General Microcircuits, Ryan Stellhorn from Cree, Greg Brown and Geron Ryden from Juki discussing the hot topic of industry 4.0, the 4th industrial revolution.  They outlined the tools available for the “Smart Factory”.  The panel also discussed how these tools make the manufacturing process more efficient, the ROI analysis associated with these tools and whether we will ever get to the holy grail of ‘lights out manufacturing’.  This is the hottest topic not only in electronics assembly but in all types of manufacturing.  The event was well attended with vigorous discussion.

The presentation highlights are posted to the SMTA website or Circuit Technology can come to your facility to present the full content.  Please contact us on 919-552-3434 or bob@circuittechnology.com for more information on this hot topic and how it might make your manufacturing process better.

As we look at 2018, stay tuned for our upcoming info session that will be held at General Microcircuits in Moooresville, NC.  Topic and date TBD.  Also, Circuit Technology is excited to announce our 2018 schedule which includes classes for all IPC specifications at our MD, NC, FL and Costa Rica training centers.  We also have more dates open this year to better accommodate training at customer sites.  Check our the schedule at www.circuittechnology.com.
